INSPIRATION
I researched a bit about the history of the building and the surroundings and found many exciting views, interesting stories, and old pictures from books and magazines, and got an idea of how the place changed during different stages for various purposes.

Alvar Aalto's designs in the interiors and furniture were of course highlights of this short research and I wanted to project some of the characteristics of the aesthetic aspects of the place and Aalto's designs in this poster.

I took that as a reference to create a few line sketches and started to add colors and textures to enhance some details and make it look more modern.
DESIGN EXPLORATIONS
SUBMITTED PROPOSAL
I called my design "Nostalgia 90"

I wanted to highlight the simplicity and versatility of the space and the different rooms and halls in the building, without forgetting the view from the outside.

The Poster is composed of an illustration of the plan of the architectural complex, a big number "90" in bright orange bold type right in the center, and a simplified line tracing of Aalto Armchair 41 custom designed for Paimio Sanatorium. The background has texturized craft paperĀ and a curved line representing the silhouettes of the roof of the building.
